‘Villa Residents’ made Japanese-viewer-friendly

Iranian feature film ‘Villa Residents’ has been translated and subtitled in Japanese to honor the Sacred Defense Week in Iran.

The Cultural Advisory at Iranian Embassy in Tokyo and the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization in Iran have had the film translated and subtitled in Japan to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Iraqi-imposed war on Iran.

The translated film will be screened at various cultural events for the Japanese viewership.

The Cultural Advisory at Iranian Embassy in Tokyo has already prepared a number of Iranian movies in Japanese, including ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Sweet Taste of Imagination’ and ‘The Painting Pool’.

‘Villa Residents’, produced by Saeed Malekan, narrates the story of some Iranian soldiers who stayed at residential villas near the frontline waiting to see their loved ones at the time of Iraq-Iran war.  

Tannaz Tabatabaee, Ali Shadman, and Anahita Afshar bring to life the starring roles of the flick.

The film has the Best Supporting Actress award from the 58th Asia-Pacific Film Festival, as well as the second prize of the Vitré Iranian Film Festival in its resume.

So far, ‘Villa Residents’ has been screened at Kerala International Film Festival in India, Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, Asian Film Festival in Spain, and also in the Bucharest Asian Film Festival in Romania.
